This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies are, which ones the PunterPick Service uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, and which the browser may send back on later visits. Local storage is a related browser feature that keeps small values on your device but, unlike a cookie, is never automatically transmitted with your requests.
Both are ordinary web technologies. What matters is not the technology but what a site chooses to put in it, and who can read it.
We do not set analytics cookies, we do not set tracking cookies of our own, and we do not use cross-site tracking, device fingerprinting or advertising identifiers to follow you around the internet.
Because the Service has no accounts and no login, there is no session cookie and no authentication token to set in the first place.
We store two values in your browser’s local storage, both purely functional. "pp-saved" holds the predictions you have starred, so that your starred list survives a page reload. "pp-consent" holds your answer to the cookie banner, so that we do not ask you the same question on every page.
Both values live on your own device. They are not sent to our servers, they cannot be read by us, and they contain nothing that identifies you — only match and market labels, and a single word recording your consent choice.
Because these are strictly necessary to provide a feature you have asked for, or to record a choice you have made, they do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules.
Some resources are loaded from third parties, and those parties may set their own cookies when your browser contacts them. This can apply to the font provider, the flag image network and, where advertising is displayed, the advertising network.
Advertising networks may use cookies to count impressions, limit how often you see the same advertisement, detect click fraud and — only where you have consented — personalise the advertising shown to you.
These cookies are set by those third parties under their own policies. We do not control them and we cannot read them.
When you first visit, the Service asks whether you accept all cookies or essential storage only. If you choose essential only, we do not permit non-essential or personalisation cookies, and we ask our advertising partners to serve non-personalised advertising where that option exists.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which erases the stored choice and causes the banner to appear again.
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage, either for all sites or for one site. These controls are usually found under Settings, then Privacy and Security.
Blocking all storage for this Service is safe and will not break it. The only consequence is that your starred predictions will not persist, and the cookie banner will reappear on each visit.
Because we do not track you, a Do Not Track header changes nothing about our own behaviour — there is nothing for us to switch off. Where our advertising partners honour Global Privacy Control signals, those signals are passed through to them by your browser.
If we introduce a new cookie or a new third-party service, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before that technology is used.
